Everport Terminal in Tacoma Goes Live with eModal PreGate Appointment Solution to Drive Cargo Velocity

Everport Terminal Services Tacoma, operator of Pierce County Terminal (PCT), a 140 acre container terminal in Tacoma, Washington, has successfully deployed the eModal Community Portal (eCP) PreGate appointment module.

The eModal PreGate appointment module provides a customizable solution that allows Everport to specify which transactions require appointments, which information must be provided by dispatchers, and the length of appointment windows and grace periods. By collecting critical data in advance and enabling the terminal to proactively plan for trucker arrivals, the PreGate solution can improve gate efficiency, reduce turn times, and drive cargo velocity for all port stakeholders.

Appointments to be required for all grounded import loads as of October 14, 2019

Husky Terminal & Stevedoring, Inc., operator of a 110-acre marine terminal in Tacoma, Washington, has successfully deployed the eModal Community Portal (eCP) PreGate appointment module for import pickup appointments and advance reservation requests. By implementing eModal’s PreGate module for import containers, Husky aims to reduce trucker turn times and improve the efficiency of gate operations in order to provide more reliable, high-quality service to their customers.

As of October 14, 2019, appointments will be mandatory during all gate hours for all grounded import loads delivered by rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes.

Florida International Terminal (FIT), port operator of a 41 acre marine terminal in the Southport area of Port Everglades, has successfully deployed the eModal Community Portal (eCP) PreGate appointment module to improve turn times and customer service.

FIT is the first port terminal in South Florida to implement an appointment system.

  In the piece eModal's extensive US adoption and existing data integration capabilities with all port stakeholders was highlighted as a means to increase cargo velocity and efficiency via digitization.
