Port of Virginia selects eModal for port-wide appointment system

The Port of Virginia has selected Advent to provide a port-wide appointment system for the Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) and APM Portsmouth facility.

Advent will configure and implement their eModal appointment system at the port to help ease traffic and turn-time issues currently experienced by truckers there. Recently, the port and local drayage community formed a Motor Carrier Task Force that is focused on improving the throughput of truck freight through the Port of Virginia. One of the first issues the task force addressed is the implementation of an appointment system for motor carriers, designed to regulate the flow of traffic at the terminals throughout the day and eliminate the “rush-hour” effect. Having successfully implemented appointment systems at other facilities in North America, Advent was the logical choice for the Port of Virginia’s appointment system.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
