Advent selected to implement Clean Truck Program for Port of New York/New Jersey

The Port of New York/New Jersey and Sustainable Terminal Services (STS), the consortium of container terminal operators, have selected Advent to provide a solution for their Clean Truck Program, as well as a port-wide appointment system.

Having provided solutions for clean truck programs in the Port of Seattle, Washington, and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, Advent was the logical choice for the Port of NY/NJ. Advent will implement a custom drayage truck database for the registration of trucking companies and trucks servicing the container terminals at the port. The drayage truck database will capture the information regarding the trucks visiting the marine terminals to ensure compliance with the port’s engine and emissions standards. Additionally, the drayage truck registry will be used to help Advent distribute and associate RFID tags to trucks visiting the terminals. These tags will uniquely identify the trucks as they enter the terminals to ensure compliance with the Clean Truck Program.

Advent will also implement a port-wide appointment system to help the container terminal operators flatten their gate traffic and ultimately provide better service to the trucking community. This program will go into effect at a later date.
